Our Vision
ASEA has grown and increased its ways to accomplish the original goals and vision. Currently, we are working to:
-
- Establish Christians in God’s Word and train them in evangelism. This is accomplished through the Schools of Bibliology program which is conducted within the local churches and through training seminars in existing churches.
- Help ministers to accomplish the call of God on their lives. This is accomplished through the provision of ordination for those trained by ASEA and by a fellowship of ministers.
- Evangelize the multitudes: This is accomplished through street evangelism, crusades, distribution of tracts and Bibles, and by the training of believers to fulfill the Great Commission to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world.
- Reach the Children: This is accomplished through evangelism outreaches, children’s Bible clubs and the sponsorship of education in the Philippines and South Africa.
ASEA has grown to include many “secondary purposes.” Many of these are related to channeling donated funds to the many needs of a developing country. ASEA helps to meet the these types of needs in all countries where we are working.
ASEA is governed by both an International Board of Directors and also on the local level by Boards based in the Philippines and in London, England.
Statement of Beliefs
-
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, Word of God.
- We believe there is one living and true God; of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness; The Maker and Preserver of all things both visible and invisible. And in unity of this Godhead there are three Persons of one substance, power, and eternity: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the Son, which is the Word of the Father, begotten from everlasting of the Father, the ever and eternal God, and of one substance with the Father, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe in the spiritually lost condition of all men and the essential need for salvation by the “new birth” through faith in Jesus Christ and the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit.
- We believe that every soul that has not made Jesus Christ as Lord of their life will be judged to spend eternity in a literal hell, which is a place of pain and suffering; thereby, compelling Christians to fulfill the Great Commission.
The following represent a summary of the basic beliefs of the Board of ASEA:
- The Word of God is the most important element in our lives followed by prayer, communion, and fellowship (Acts 2:42; Matthew 4:4; John 15:7,8).
- Every believer has been called to be a bold witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a teacher of the doctrines of the Bible (Matthew 12:30, Acts 1:8; Hebrews 5:12-6:2).
- Christians should grow in Christ, looking to Christ and His Word (Matthew 11:28-30; II Timothy 3:16, 17).
- Christians should help and support the local pastor in winning and training converts, not dependent on the pastor, but a servant whom the pastor can depend on (Philippians 2:19, 20; Hebrews 5:12-6:2; II Corinthians 5:18-20; I Peter 3:15; Acts 8:4; John 15:50).
- There is a five-fold ministry that consists of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher in that order of importance to the church (Ephesians 4:11; I Corinthians 12:28).
- According to John the Baptist, the joy of a pastor is to have JESUS increase in the lives of his congregation and himself decrease (John 3:29, 30).
- The five-fold ministry brings maturity to the saints in order that they may be brought to the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-15; I Corinthians 12:22, 23, 27, 28).
- Each individual church rules and governs itself and is independent (I Timothy; Titus).
- The job of the church is to get believers into daily fellowship with God in His Word (John 8:31, 32; Titus 1:9; I John 2:1-6).
- All believers should expect and seek the promise given by Jesus of the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire. The role of the Holy Spirit in our lives is primarily to give us power to be witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be our Master Teacher of the Word of God (Luke 24:49; John 16:5-15; Acts 1:8).
- Christians must live a life that is separated from the ways of the world in every possible way. This includes dress, entertainment, music, materialism, etc. All effort should be made to comply with Biblical guidelines on our everyday lifestyle. (Romans 12:1, 2; II Corinthians 6:17; Ephesians 4:20-24; Titus 2:11-14).
- Jesus warned that in the last days there would be false prophets, false teachers, and deceiving spirits. Therefore, we must ensure that our doctrine is based solely and entirely on what is written in God’s Word. (Luke 18:9-17; Romans 16:17, 18; I Timothy 6:20; II Timothy 4:2-5; I John 4:1; Revelation 22:18, 19).
